Okay so this is the ONLY PERSONAL POST ILL EVER DO. i have to get it off my chest.

kinda. well more celebrity crush.

This handsome man is named Sam Tan. he is an actor, stuntman, skater, and asian.

He is in the new David guetta & Alesso feat. Tegan and sara music video:

Pretty awesome huh. He was also tribute boy from district 8 in Hunger Games and the main character in Far East Movement’s Rocketeer.

Let me tell you now why he is my celebrity crush.

First of all, he is a skater/actor. my age.

And he is breaking a lot of stereotypes of Asian males in the American media industry. He also recognizes being asian and the importance of it as he has alluded to in various social media (ok the internet makes it easy and you do it too). Also in all his roles in film, he is not once conformed to the idea of the Asian males as being feminine or subordinate to the common white lead. Though I believe that he is half asian. His role in the new David Guetta & Alesso music video provides a one up to the asian male lead role in an obvious American social setting. Not only that, his role has to do with the younger generation of teens and early adults in which the whole idea of beauty is targeted towards.

So in conclusion, Sam Tan is a celebrity crush because he skates, my age, asian heritage, acts, like good music like the music video he is in (i think?), knows asl (kinda). AND DOESN’T SUBMIT TO ASIAN STEREOTYPES IN MEDIA.

What started as a joke a year ago slowly became a real thing. My friends and I recorded an EP a couple weeks back at the radio station we work at. Our friend mixed it, and here is the final product.

It’s been an absolute blast learning bass and working with my friends to write these ridiculous songs. We even played a house show on Thursday to a crowded living room full of all our friends.

Hope you enjoy the silly-ness as much as we have!
